About the Blog

Hi, I’m Adrianne, and I’m the voice behind this blog.

I started this blog back in 2010 as a New Year’s resolution. I have a terrible memory, so I really just wanted a way to chronicle the daily happenings in my life and pair those memories with pictures. Along the way, it has become something more for me. I love “meeting” new people through this blog and very much enjoy the community aspect of sharing my life and hearing from others.

A little bit more about myself:

I was born and raised in Austin, Texas and still live here today. Someday I’d love to live abroad (or in California), but if I have to be “stuck” in one place my entire life, Austin is a pretty great place to be!

I’m passionate about photography and love to share my photos on this site. I have so much to learn, but little in life makes me as excited as when I capture that perfect shot!

In addition to photography, I love to read, preferably something with a little bit of romance to it. I’m not talking romance novels here, just to be clear. Just a good story that might also happen to involve a little love on the side. Or whatever.

I also read a lot about healthy eating habits, and have made it my mission to eat real foods and learn as much as I can about where our food comes from and what’s in it. This interest really began after I read Michael Pollan’s In Defense of Food. So in addition to sharing pictures and life stories here on the blog, I’ve occasionally been known to share a new, healthy recipe that I’ve discovered. I’m the furthest thing from a good cook, but I’m trying to learn. Oh, and I’m also newly gluten-free, so there’s that.

I love to travel! My dad travels a lot and has for as long as I can remember. I think that’s where I got my travel bug. I’ve been lucky to visit such places as Australia, Mexico, England, Ireland, Italy, France, Spain and quite a few US states, but there are still so many places that I want to go! I love seeing and hearing about how other people live, and in my opinion, traveling is the best way to do that!

In 2007 I married my wonderful husband, Nathan. Here is his face:

We got married in Maui because neither of us wanted a big wedding and both of us cared more about the honeymoon than having a huge reception. It was the best decision for us!

Just before Christmas 2010, we found out that we were expecting our first baby. I always had an inkling that my first child would be a girl, and I was right. In September 2011, our lives changed forever (and for the better) when we welcomed our beautiful daughter, Annabel Kate.

She is the light of our lives and has become a large part of this blog.

Like any new family, we’ve had our growing pains. Our life is not always sunny, but for the most part I like to share the sunny moments here on this blog, rather than focus on the crappy stuff. Here is why.

I’ve recently made the huge decision to leave my job and stay home full-time with Annabel. I’m nervous. I’m excited. I’m grateful. I look forward to sharing this new adventure here!

Now that you know a little bit about me, I’d love to hear from YOU! I love receiving comments and feedback and do my best to reply to each comment. I appreciate anyone who takes the time to write to me!
