It must be said: kids make Christmas so much more fun and exciting! Scientific fact.
Last year’s Christmas will always be special because it was Annabel’s first, but the older she gets, the more interactive she gets and the more fun we have.
This year we had a little “help” decorating the Christmas tree.
This year we scoured the neighborhood for Christmas lights and watched as Annabel pointed them all out, whispering “wow!” The house below had flashing lights to the tune of “Gangnam Style.” Hilarious.
This year we got to participate in our neighborhood Christmas festivities where Annabel got to hear a story by Mrs. Claus,
and scream in Santa Claus’s face.
This year we took Annabel to the Trail of Lights
and showed her what a cool city she calls home.
This year she played with her cousins on Christmas Eve
and helped to open her presents.
This year we took a couple of pictures that I only wish I could have had in time to send out on our Christmas cards.
But best of all, this year we got our first taste of being Santa for our little girl.
We got to watch her open up the box containing a brand new baby doll, and we got to see her face light up in the way only a child’s can on Christmas morning.
And that, my friends, is better than anything that could have been wrapped under the tree.
Yes, this year was a good year and a good Christmas!
How could it not be when we have this little lady to share it with?
Hope everyone who celebrates had a very Merry Christmas!
