Come Again Another Day
We’ve had a pretty mild summer compared to last summer when we were breaking records left and right for hottest and driest days, weeks, and months. What a welcome relief! Last summer we got almost no rain, but this year, we’ve had several big storms.
On Sunday night I was cooking dinner (for my weekly recipe) when it started pouring down rain. This was the heaviest rain I had seen in a long time. Nathan took Annabel out to see the rain and a few minutes later I could hear her squealing and laughing her little head off. So what’s a mom to do, but run out with the camera?
It turns out Nathan was holding her out under the rain to let her feel it and she thought it was the greatest thing ever!
Flapping her arms and squealing in delight….
I see lots of rainy day fun in our future, complete with rain boots and puddle stomping!
After the rain slowed down, we also got the most beautiful rainbow right in front of the house.
There’s nothing like a good storm in the summer in Texas!
Sounds like Annabel wants to move to England! 🙂
Haha, she might just love that! For about a day anyway….then she’d be ready go be able to crawl around in the grass again, go on long walks, and eat popsicles on a towel in the backyard. It just occurred to me that parents in England have a much harder job! How the heck do they entertain their kids all the time INSIDE?! If Annabel is ever super cranky, all I have to do is take her outside and it’s like instant happiness. Hmmmm…..
I don’t know! People are really going crazy over here though because this is exceptional. Its supposed to be one of the worst summers ever. I just bought a hoodie today, because I needed one. On July 19. lol
But yeah…we can’t do anything outside almost every day because of of the rain.
haha adorable!!! Love her rain strewn hair!
Thanks:) You totally should have heard all the squealing she was doing! She is entranced even just watching the rain, and luckily the thunder doesn’t scare her. Nathan taught her to clap when it thunders:) Does Avery like the rain?
Well, Mommy doesn’t like the rain! On our commute home last night there was a huge summer storm. Downpour. It was quite a shuffle to get from the car to the house. Because it was coming down so hard, it wasn’t safe to play in. Avery loves water though.. loves his pool and bath so I bet he will like rain. I dont’ know about thunder though… I love that your hubby taught her to clap during thunder such a great idea!
Oh my goodness, suuuuuch cute pictures!!! I hope there’s a photo contest you can enter THOSE ones in. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Oh the rain was glorious! I think we have another chance next week. I could totally get used to a weekly rain shower 🙂
