Celebrating the US of A!
We started our Independence Day celebrations early by heading up to our neighborhood amenity center on Tuesday night for some food and festivities. We didn’t stay too long because Annabel had missed her afternoon nap and needed an early bedtime. But we did stay long enough to get a couple of patriotic pictures of Annabel with flags.
She just wanted to eat them though.
Then yesterday we headed up to Nathan’s parents’ house for some fun in the sun. There was plenty more red, white, and blue,
some swimming with friends,
and of course, lots of delicious food including burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, baked beans, potato salad, ice cream cake and blueberry pie!
Sadly I didn’t get any pictures of the food (except for the pie which I will post about later), so you’ll just have to take my word for it.
We decided not to attempt any fireworks with Annabel this year, but Nathan did buy some sparklers. However, after a day out in the sun, Annabel was ready to crash long before it got dark enough for sparklers. We decided we’ll attempt those this weekend right when she wakes up. Yes, she wakes up before the sun.
So until then, Happy (Late) 4th of July! Hope you all had a safe and fun holiday!
