The Importance of Having Fun

No matter how old you get, it’s important to always remember how to have fun and be silly. To release your inner child.

My in-laws take this idea seriously. On New Year’s Day, we went over for dinner. After dinner, they told us they had a surprise for all of us as our last Christmas gifts. Nathan’s dad ran back to their bedroom (he was so excited!) and retrieved six marshmallow guns while his mom pulled out a bowl of marshmallows as ammo. It was a race to see who could get their guns opened and loaded the quickest. And then it was war.

Unfortunately I didn’t get too many good action shots as I was too busy trying to pelt everyone with marshmallows. I did however get a picture of some of the aftermath. There were ‘mallows everywhere!

And you can bet we got plenty of pictures of ourselves posing with our weapons, and just generally being crazy.

Not your typical New Year’s dinner/get together, but typical is usually a code word for boring. I think it was a great way to start off what is sure to be a great year!
