I’m not usually a fan of brainwashing one’s child or indoctrinating them or whatever you want to call it. In fact, when it comes to things like religion and politics, things that I feel are very personal, my plan and goal is to allow this baby of mine to make up her own mind without much influence from me. I plan to present to her a variety of ideas, thoughts and beliefs and then let her decide what makes sense for her. I know that will be easier said than done, but it’s definitely my goal.
However, there is one area in which we fully plan to indoctrinate her, and the process has already begun! This little one is a Longhorn in the making. She’ll be joining us right at the beginning of football season, so we figured it was a great opportunity to get her started early. Behold her game day gear:
Are those not the cutest things you’ve ever seen?! A wonderful friend of ours had those handmade by a friend of hers. So thoughtful and so perfect!
This dress was also a gift, along with the Bevo stuffed animal below. People know us so well!
Last weekend we did a little shopping and decided she needed more Longhorn gear.
Nathan insisted on buying her this cheerleader outfit as well, despite the fact that she won’t be able to wear it until she’s two! I plan to get her a little jersey to balance things out. Again with the choices…we’ll let her decided which she prefers. And if she’s anything like me, it will be the jersey!
And lastly, she’s been given two sets of Longhorn pacifiers.
I think she’s good to go for now, but I have no doubt that her burnt orange collection will continue to grow and grow throughout the years. Especially if her daddy has any say in the matter. Now let’s just hope that all of this early brainwashing works, and she doesn’t decide to go to A&M or Texas Tech! That would be painful.
Oh, and speaking of cute clothes, I also bought a really cute little dress for her first photo shoot. Have I mentioned how excited I am to have my own personal model to photograph? I mean, I’m excited to have her for other reasons of course, but photographing her is definitely something I look forward to:)
I couldn’t resist the pink tutu. I may not be the girliest girl in the world, but you have to admit that thing is pretty freaking adorable!

yay!!! i’m so glad you liked the knitted stuff
i want to learn how to knit so bad! i have designs i’d love to make! she will be adorable watching the game!
I really want to learn to knit too! Especially since I love scarves and hats (for babies anyway…I don’t look good in them!). We should try to learn together:)
My inlaws are Aggies. I know.. wth was I thinking! But, we’ve decided that as long as she goes to A&M or UT, we’ll be happy… if she goes to Tech, a) we’ll cry… and b) we’ll be a little bit richer because there’s no way I’m giving money to that wretched school… hehe
Love the UT apparel!!
Haha, it happens! I’m sure they’re still good people:)
I’ll try to be supportive no matter where she goes, I just hope it’s not a big UT rival. So no A&M, Tech, or OU! That would just make game watching too tense because I could never cheer for any of those other teams!
